The Nacogdoches Police Department is set to host a Citizens’ Police Academy.
This 14-week program aims to provide citizens with a comprehensive
understanding of the Nacogdoches Police Department and the field of law
enforcement.
Sgt. Brett Ayres, the program coordinator, stated, “The initiative offers a thorough
examination of law enforcement, focusing specifically on the policies and
procedures of the Nacogdoches Police Department. It seeks to inform citizens
about the rationale behind our decisions and the methods we employ in various
situations.”
The program will commence on February 3rd, with the graduation ceremony
planned for May 12th. Classes will take place at the police department every
Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendance is free of charge, but
enrollment is limited to 24 participants.
Interested individuals can obtain applications at the police station or by emailing
