NACOGDOCHES WOMEN’S CENTER OFFERING NEW IN-OFFICE PROCEDURES

Nacogdoches Women’s Center has expanded their in-office procedures, offering patients more flexibility in treatment options.

“We’re always looking for better ways to serve our patients,” said Kyle McMorries, MD, FACOG. “By offering these procedures in-office, we’re giving our patients more choices, more convenience, and less expensive options to find relief from some common issues women deal with.”

Nacogdoches Women’s Center now performs the loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) in their Nacogdoches office. The LEEP involves removing a thin layer of cervical tissue that can be tested for precancerous cells. LEEPs usually take about 15 minutes and can be performed without general anesthesia.

For women with abnormal bleeding, a hysteroscopy can identify and remove irregularities that may be causing the problem. Now available in-office, this procedure is performed using a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope to examine the cervix and uterus. A hysteroscopy can last anywhere from five minutes to 30 minutes, depending on whether it’s diagnostic or operative.

For women with heavy bleeding, the NovaSure® endometrial ablation is a one-time, five-minute, minimally invasive, procedure that can lighten or end heavy periods. The treatment can be performed at any point in your menstrual cycle, and no pretreatment is required. Using precisely measured radio-frequency energy, this small device safely removes the uterine lining that sheds during your period. It’s a simple procedure that can be performed in the Nacogdoches Women’s Center office without general anesthesia.
