Betty Jo Harvey Parrish Obituary

April 15, 1935 – October 24, 2025

Mrs. Betty Jo Harvey Parrish, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas.

Betty Jo was born in San Augustine County to Fenton Dhu Harvey and Neoma Gladys Warr Harvey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Opal Harvey Lowery, Lovey Lorene Harvey, Pearline Harvey Helverson, Mary Ola Harvey Tarver, Ada Mae Harvey Johnson, Vesta Angelee Harvey Haley, and Margie Harvey Everson; her brother, Junior Felton Harvey; and her grandson, Charles Thomas Peloquen.

She is survived by her beloved children, Michael and Chelsy Parrish of Etoile, Texas; Debbie and J.R. Kirk of Nacogdoches, Texas; Lonnie Parrish of Lufkin, Texas; Dana Peloquen of Ben Wheeler, Texas; and Tonya and James Linstrom of Nacogdoches, Texas; her brother, Burness Harvey; as well as 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

Betty Jo lived a full and loving life surrounded by family and friends. She found great joy in quilting, gardening, and reading—hobbies that reflected her creativity, patience, and love for simple, beautiful things.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Eric Cline, Jackie Thornton, Lori Murphree, Brittany Wallace, Anna Wars, Sasha Husband, and the Memory Care wing at Parkwood in the Pines for their compassion and care.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Standfield, Todd Parrish, Jason Sykes, Michael Linstrom, Tim Johnson, and Steve Harvey.

Betty Jo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will continue to live through her family and the many lives she touched.
