William George Ammons, Jr. passed away from this life on May 24, 2024 at the age of 55. He was born January 3, 1969 in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents William George Ammons, Sr. and Deloris (Bush) Ammons.

Billy was a jack-of-all-trades. He became a certified Diesel Mechanic when he served his country in the U.S. Army.

He had a passion for cars. He loved to hunt and fish when he had the time. He had a love for sports.

He was a loving and caring father and he loved his grand kids that made him the Big Papa he is. His heart was bigger than life. At the end of the day, he lived for his family.

He finished his career as a diesel mechanic at Texas Oilfield Transportation.

Billy is survived by sons, Eric and wife Kaylea Ammons and Hunter and wife Ashee Ammons all of Mt. Enterprise, and Brandon Johnson of Baytown; daughters, Elizabeth “Sissy” Evonne Chevelle Ammons of Troup, Piper Regina Ammons of Nacogdoches; Sisters, Francina Partin of Nacogdoches and Rebecca LeFevers of Angleton; brothers, Wesley Porter, Heath Barker, both of Mt. Enterprise, and James Perdue of College Station; 9 grandchildren, and survived by family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Deloris Ammons, sister, Joyce Berry and nephews Chris and Michael Henson and Joe Duke.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home with interment following in Rock Springs Cemetery, Nacogdoches County. An evening of visitation will be held on Friday, May 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
