NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program announced their 2023 schedule on Thursday.
The Ladyjacks will host an exhibition match against Texas A&M-Commerce on August 19th. The first regular season game will be in Mobile, Alabama at the South Alabama Tournament, which features; Jackson State, Tulane and South Alabama on August 25th and 26th.
SFA will host their first tournament from August 31st to September 2nd which will include games against California Polytechnic (August 31st), Nicholls (September 1st), and Southern Mississippi (September 2nd).
A four-game road trip starts off with a matchup against North Texas on September 6th, and then head to Northern Arizona for a tournament against Boise State, Northern Arizona, and Arizona State September 8th and 9th.
The second SFA tournament will begin on September 14th with an old conference foe returning to the Pressure Cooker, Sam Houston. Followed by a matchup with Tulsa on the 15th and Ole Miss on the 16th.
A rematch with Baylor is slated to be the final non-conference game for the ‘Jacks on September 19th in Waco.
The WAC schedule begins with UTRGV and UT Arlington come to Nacogdoches on September 23rd and 25th.
SFA’s first WAC road trip includes stops in Orem, Utah and Seattle, Washington as the Ladyjacks face off against the Wolverines of Utah Valley and the Redhawks from Seattle U.The ‘Jacks will have a four-game homestand beginning with CBU on October 5th, then GCU on October 7th, Tarleton on October 12th, and ending with ACU on October 14th.
A four-game conference road trip awaits the Ladyjacks as they head back to Utah to face Utah Tech (October 19th) and Southern Utah (October 20th). Then SFA will travel down to Edinburg on October 26th for a matchup with the Vasqueros, and then head north to Arlington to play UT Arlington on October 30th.
The final two home games of the regular season will be November 2nd and 4th, when Seattle and Utah Valley come to town.
The ‘Jacks will hit the road one final time before the conference tournament to take on GCU on November 9th and CBU on November 11th. The WAC Tournament will be from November 16th to 18th. The first round of the NCAA Tournament will begin on November 30th.
SFA will look to defend their WAC title after finishing 26-5 with an appearance in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach Debbie Humphreys will be entering her 36th season of coaching at SFA and sports 793-362 career record.
