A Nacogdoches County man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation following a standoff with law enforcement officers this morning in the 16,000 block of U.S. 59 N.
NCSO deputies were dispatched to a welfare check around 7 a.m. and the suspect surrendered to law enforcement around 8:30 a.m.
There is no current or on-going threat to the public.
Shortly after the initial call was received, 911 dispatchers received reports of shots fired, and SWAT officers, the Nacogdoches Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Nacogdoches County EMS were dispatched as well.
Deputies were able to contact the individual, who was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported.
