A new K-9 with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office is already making a huge impact by assisting deputies with the seizure of 46 Kilograms of Cocaine Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, a deputy stopped a white Nissan SUV for two traffic violations on SW Stallings Drive. The deputy observed that the vehicle was occupied by two males and one female. After speaking with the driver and occupants, the deputy became suspicious of criminal activity based on their behavior and conflicting statements.
The deputy was denied consent to search the motor vehicle when he requested. Because of suspicions of criminal activity, the deputy removed K-9 Milo from the patrol unit and conducted a free air search around the vehicle. K-9 Milo alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from the vehicle, which gave deputies probable cause to search the motor vehicle. During the K-9 search, Milo alerted to the vehicle’s trunk area.
Deputies searched the motor vehicle and later found a false compartment in the SUV’s trunk. During the search, deputies observed that the rear of the vehicle had been altered and had two hydraulic cylinders wired to a switch that raised the compartment for access.
Once access was gained to the false compartment, deputies found 46 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside the car. Deputies arrested all three subjects at the scene and transported them to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.

Andre Nelson, 65 years of age from Georgia, Antonio Colon, 46 years of age from Illinois, and Latrisha Crims, 32 years of age from Humble, Texas, were booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on the following charges:
Manufacturing or Delivery of a controlled substance, a 1st-degree felony. Bond set at 500,000.00 for each suspect on this charge.
Unlawful use of a criminal instrument, a 2nd-degree felony. Bond set at 50,000.00 for each suspect on this charge.
Further investigation indicates the subjects were headed to Chicago, Illinois. The total weight of cocaine found inside the vehicle was over 100 pounds. The street value of the drug is estimated at $920.000.00 dollars.
This investigation is still ongoing.
