SFA Track and Field Set to Host Carl Kight Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin track and field team will host the Carl Kight Invitational Meet, here in Nacogdoches, Texas.  The meet will take place from April 13th-15th.

The Lumberjack squad is coming off an impressive performance, at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.  The men had three top five performances.  SFA’s top performance came from pole vaulter Branson Ellis.  Ellis placed a height of 5.86m.  This shattered his previous school record and is the highest vault in the NCAA.  Riley Elliot placed fourth in the 1500m run.  Elliott ran a time of 3:49.86 in the event.  Clark Otte also placed fourth, running a 8:59.11 in the 3000 steeplechase.  

The women’s group was highlighted in the high jump sections.  Nissi Kabongo placed 10th, with a high jump of 1.75m.  Angel Richmore finished fourth in the “B section”, with a high jump of 1.75m

The meet will be free to the public and will kick off Thursday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m.
