Patricia “Carol” Long, age 71, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Nacogdoches. She was born in Nacogdoches on November 10, 1952 to parents Gaylon Dale Long and Nelda Faye Pitts.

Patricia attended Nacogdoches High School and worked at the local Hoya Library shelving books. Later she would become employed with Gay Products crafting lawn furniture on the assembly line.

She loved spring flowers, many types of arts and crafts, church music and being part of the choir. Patricia was quiet and reserved but always had a smile on her face and recognized those who loved her. She delighted in being independent and felt accepted by her friends and family.

Patricia adored traveling with her family as long as they could be indoors, where she wouldn’t be too hot or too cold. Although, last year on a family trip to Galveston Texas, she found herself pleased in sitting in the sand while listening to the waves pass by. Patricia was also known as “Callie” after her sister Judith couldn’t pronounce her name as a child, and to her nephews she was known as “Arlie” and Aunty Carol. She loved watching Dr. David Jeremiah a pastor out of California, she had a great memory–never forgetting anything, and enjoyed ice cream and Dr. Pepper.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and great niece, Hannah Williamson.

She is survived by her sister, Judith Williamson and husband Howard of Nacogdoches; nephews, Greg Williamson and wife Heather of Anchorage, Alaska, and Brad Williamson and wife Michelle of Douglass, Texas; great-nieces, Kayla Micci and husband Stephen, Lauren Williamson and Olivia Faith Williamson; great-nephews, Josh Williamson, Clayton Williamson and wife Olivia, and Gaylon Luke Williamson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 ST Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105 and the Special Olympics Texas- East Texas Area, 3416 Denman Ave. Suite 4 Lufkin, Texas, 75901.
