August 9, 1948 ~ April 16, 2025
76 Years Old
Mariann Douglas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, lived a life filled with love, creativity, and quiet strength. Born on August 9, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Frank and Regina Todaro, Mariann was one of seven siblings in a close-knit and loving family. She attended Woodlawn High School, where she began to form the foundation of the warm, caring woman so many would come to cherish.
On March 4, 1967, Mariann married the love of her life, Ken Douglas, in Hitchcock, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she created a warm and welcoming home deeply rooted in family and faith.
Mariann was the devoted wife of Ken for 58 years and the proud mother of six children: Elizabeth, Mary Katherine, Jennifer, Kinnie, Carolyn, and Kristopher. She was also blessed with ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy. As part of a large extended family, Mariann found deep meaning in the relationships and connections that shaped her life.
She had a gift for making the world more beautiful. Whether through cooking, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, or gardening, Mariann poured her heart into everything she touched. Her hands were rarely still, and her creations were an extension of her love, shared generously with family, friends, and her community.
Mariann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering support of those she loved, and quiet ability to make people feel at home. She leaves a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and deep family bonds that will continue inspiring those who knew her.
Mariann passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 76, from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. Her loss is deeply felt, but her presence will remain in the hearts and hands of all she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas.
