Graveside funeral services for Lou McFarland Rogers, 98, of Alto will be Wednesday, October 11, at the Alto City Cemetery at 10 AM. No visitation is scheduled. Mrs. Rogers passed away Monday, October 9 in Rusk. She was born December 13, 1924 in Trinity, Texas to Thomas E. McFarland and Bettie Ashworth McFarland. Lou lived most of her life in Alto and had also lived in Houston. She was a beautician for 28 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alto. Lou also was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, United Daughter’s of the Confederacy, National Society of Daughter’s of the Revolution and United States National Society of 1812. She was preceded in death by husband of 55 years Jack Floyd Rogers, son Ronald Rogers, brothers Thomas McFarland, Frank McFarland, Jesse McFarland and Elmer McFarland, sisters Rebecca McFarland, Lola McFarland Phillip, Fay McFarland, Ruby McFarland Smith and Mildred McFarland Baker. Mrs. Rogers is survived by son and daughter-in-law Terry and Carolyn Rogers of Alto, daughter-in-law Gail Rogers of Alto, grandchildren Wendy and Ryan, 2 great grandchildren, niece Darlene as well as other nieces, nephews and other family.
