Obituary
Jewell was born on November 26, 1928 to Curtis and Trudy Hooper. She lived most of her life in the Martinsville/Swift area. She had three brothers and three sisters, whom she loved dearly; they remained close all of their lives. She was a hard worker and had many jobs over the years. Her life was simple and she loved to serve her family, but her greatest joy was being a mother. Ricky was the apple of her eye and from the day he was born, her primary purpose in life was to take care of him. She loved country music and enjoyed singing with her family. But her favorite thing to do was listen to Ricky play and sing. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing big meals for her family. Later in life, she was blessed with two stepsons, Randy and Craig whom she loved like her own. Through the years, she touched many lives, from her family to the customers she served. She was always kind and humble, rarely choosing the spotlight with her many talents. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Taylor of Nacogdoches; granddaughters, Ricci Wilson and husband Stephen of Nacogdoches; Brandi Allen and husband Shane of Nacogdoches; Leslie Lloyd and Candi Lawson both of Dallas; grandsons, Brady Taylor and wife Sherri of Woden; Lance Taylor and wife Crystal of Melrose; Caleb Lawson and wife Katlyn of Nacogdoches; daughters-in-law, Linda Lawson of Douglass and Sheila Lawson of Crockett; sister, Doris Lofton of Round Rock; brother-in-law, Raymond Jimmerson of Nacogdoches; and sister-in-law, Mary Hooper of Shady Grove and numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Trudy Hooper; sisters, Ola Bell Jimmerson and Macil Wheeler; brothers, Bill Hooper, Bud Hooper, and Doyn Hooper; and stepsons, Craig Lawson and Randy Lawson.
