Obituary
Funeral services for Harold D. Lackey, 87, of Nacogdoches, will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home.
Harold Don Lackey was born and raised in Port Arthur. He was the son of Arthur Thomas and Flora (Harris) Lackey.
He married Madolyn Mary “Patty” Nunez on November 13, 1956. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved the Lord, spending time with family, and serving others. He served in the Marine Corps, National Guard, and he was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League. He loved doing Toys for Tots the past three years.
Don worked as a fireman, in insurance, and owned Property Damage Appraisers.
He is survived by his children; Michael Jay Lackey and wife, Shelly, David Brian Lackey and wife, Margie, Timothy Paul Lackey and wife, Cristina, and Mary Susan Derrick and husband, Daron; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Madolyn Mary Lackey; parents, Arthur Thomas and Flora Lackey; sister, Dana Lackey; brothers, Jimmy and Allen Thomas Lackey; and grandchild, Chad Lackey.
Pallbearers for the service will be David Lackey, Jay Lackey, Tim Lackey, Daron Derrick, Drew Derrick, and Ryan Lackey.
