Obituary
Eris Patty (Beasley) Belk, formerly of Nacogdoches, passed away June 25, 2023, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born March 19, 1924 in Fulton, Arkansas to parents Tommie Beasley and Pattie (Weaver) Beasley.
A graduate of Fulton High School, Eris and her husband Jerrel previously lived in Mesquite, Texas prior to moving to Nacogdoches in 1972 where she worked and retired as the secretary for the business manager for the Nacogdoches Independent School District. She was a member of Perritte Memorial Methodist Church and enjoyed serving for many years on the Pie Crust Committee and working the church’s annual Bazaar. She enjoyed gardening, travel, cooking, puzzles of all kinds, and living in Nacogdoches, where she and her husband always looked forward to Ladyjack basketball season and the Azalea and Blueberry Festivals. Eris also dearly loved her two granddaughters and was involved in all the special moments of their lives.
Mrs. Belk was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Jerrel Belk; and siblings, Tommy, Joyce, Margaret, Jim, Nina, and Gordon. She was the last survivor of the seven children of Tommie and Pattie Beasley.
She is survived by her son, Keith Belk and wife Nina of The Woodlands, Texas; granddaughters, Hillary Belk of Houston, Texas and Katherine Sralla and husband Jacob also of The Woodlands as well as numerous nieces and nephews across Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Georgia.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas.
The family wants to thank all of the staff of the Auberge at The Woodlands and Devotion Hospice for the wonderful care Eris received. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Perritte Memorial Methodist Church or The Alzheimer’s Association.
