Graveside service for Dorotha “Dottie” Brooks Partin, 90, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Shady Grove Cemetery with Bro. Sonny Scarbrough officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am prior to the service on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home.
Dottie Brooks Partin (Johnson) was born on May 3, 1935, to her loving parents Edgar and Madie Johnson in George West, Texas. She grew up in East Columbia, Texas and graduated from West Columbia High School.
Dottie later became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she brought warmth and strength into the lives she touched. Dottie shared a passion for quilting with her friends in her quilting club. She loved sewing, gardening and feeding the birds as well. She had a special caregiver, Brandy Johnson, who loved and cared for her deeply. Later in life she got to enjoy traveling all over with Willie (her late husband), but her most joy in life was taking care of her family.
Dottie attended different Baptist churches over the years and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was never short on love for anyone.
Dottie will be remembered for her love, her light-hearted spirit, and the countless memories she created with her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Dottie is survived by her children, Jimmy Ray Brooks & wife, Cathy of Nacogdoches, Tx, Laura Louis Clifton & husband, Allen of Nacogdoches, Tx, and Debra Elaine Ratcliff & husband, Jeff of Nacogdoches, Tx; Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; and her sister, Anna Laura Jackson of West Columbia, Tx; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Madie Johnson; spouses, Willie Partin and Ervin F. Brooks Sr.; and several siblings; and other family.
Serving as Pallbearers are Roy Parrish, Eric Langford, Dale Langford, Robert Jackson, Dewayne Ratcliff, and Trey Matchett. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Parrish and Ralph Holland.
