Graveside services for Diannia ‘Di’ Satterwhite Vawter, 68, of Nacogdoches will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Sonny Scarbrough officiating.
Mrs. Vawter was born November 4, 1953 in Abilene, Texas to the late Zonia Rayburn and William Toland, and died Monday, October 3, 2022 in Garrison Nursing Home in Garrison, Texas.
Diannia worked in dietary and medical billing at Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and watching professional baseball, with her favorite team being the Atlanta Braves. She absolutely loved watching her grandkids play baseball, and she never missed a game. Diannia loved spending time at the lake, or the beach, and especially if her kids and grandkids were with her. Diannia would often make special trips to her late husband J.W. ‘s job sites to see the progress of the new home he was building, and visit with him, her son, son in law’s, and grandson. She was a dog lover, and her favorites were her dachshunds, Zoe and Hercules.
Survivors include her children Wyndi and Brian Cage of Nacogdoches, son-in-law Jerry Black of Broaddus, Cliff and Michele Satterwhite of Iowa, Jesi Satterwhite of Nacogdoches, Misty and Tim Owens of Nacogdoches, Tiffany and Duane Gleis of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Andrew Williams, Kimberly Johns, Hailey Brunson, Lesli Williams, Avery Malloy, Jason Moore, Kylie Unsell,Austin Malloy, Deacon Black, Maddison Stokes, Maci Owens, Meagan Owens, Sydney Soto-Pedroza, Kadence Gleis, and Michael Gleis; ten great-grandchildren, brother Danny Toland, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, John Wesley “JW” Vawter; daughter Misty Black, and great-grandson Branch Williams.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Williams, Avery Malloy, Mike Satterwhite, John Malloy, DJ Johns, and Brian Cage.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Laird Funeral Home
