Obituary

Graveside service for Carl Ellis Parrish, 67, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Simpson Campground Cemetery.  Mr. Parrish passed away on October 3, 2022 in Nacogdoches.

Carl Ellis Parrish was born on July 15, 1955 in Houston to Carl & Audrey Knighton.  His father was killed in a car accident when Carl was an infant.  His mother, although she tried her best, was not able to care for all of the children.  Carl was in foster care until he was adopted at 8 years old by Ellis & Wilma Parrish.  These two beautiful souls loved and nurtured Carl and made sure he had everything he needed.  He attended Woden High school and upon graduation, he enrolled in SFASU for approximately 2 years studying History.  Carl also spent several years serving our country in the US Marine Corp.  Just by chance, a mutual friend introduced him to  Jeanette and the two became wonderful friends and were married in Las Vegas on October 30, 1992.  Carl worked for many years and was eventually able to retire.  Carl enjoyed fishing and hunting and the serenity of being in the country.  He spent his last years at his place in Woden where he lived a simple life.

Carl is survived by his wife, Jeanette Parrish; brother, Jimmy Gallier; sister, Linda Neiberger and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Rabeka Layton and Coby Layton; 2 honorary grandchildren, Jerrod & Cason; and his favorite companion, BB (his Jack Russell Terrier).

Carl was preceded in death by both his birth and adoptive parents and a brother, Louis Andrew Robertson.
