Funeral services for Betty Ray (Lofton) Cox, 77, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Laird Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Dennis Anderson. Interment will follow at Broaddus Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Laird Funeral Home. Mrs. Cox passed away on January 8, 2026, in Nacogdoches. She was born on August 7, 1948, in San Augustine to the late Raymond and Lillian Lofton.
Betty Cox, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Elton Cox, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
A dedicated and nurturing mother, Betty raised her daughters Jessica and Theresa with boundless love and encouragement. She welcomed her son-in-law, Jon, with open arms and considered him part of her heart and family from the moment they met.
Betty was also a treasured sister to Bonnie Howard, with whom she shared lifelong memories, deep friendship, and an unbreakable bond.
Her greatest joys were her grandsons, Jack and Jake, who brought her immense pride, joy, and light. She cherished every moment with them.
Betty will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle strength, and the way she made every person she encountered feel loved and valued. Her warm presence, quick smile, and compassionate spirit leave an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, generosity, and quiet grace will continue to shine through the family and friends she so deeply touched.
