Nacogdoches Historic Sites Division is excited to announce the completion of the
restoration and installation of its cherished pews this spring, courtesy of Tracy’s Custom Carpentry. To celebrate this milestone, we will host an Adopt-a-Pew Showcase on June 1, from noon to 3 p.m.
The Adopt-a-Pew Showcase will allow sponsors to visit the church at their convenience during the event and personally view their dedicated pew with its accompanying plaque. The event is not exclusive to sponsors; members of the public are welcome to join the celebration. A photographer will be on-site to capture any memorable moments and light refreshments will be served throughout the event. Live music will be performed by Dan McMahon. For those unable to attend during the scheduled showcase, alternate arrangements can be made to facilitate viewing your dedicated pew at another time. “The Adopt-a-Pew program was a great example of how much the Nacogdoches community supports historic preservation”, Veronica Amoe, Historic Sites Manager, “Once the funds were raised, the restoration took some time because of the varied condition of each pew. Tracy did a wonderful job, the pews are gorgeous and having seating in the sanctuary allows us to plan events for the future.”
