Obituary

Virgie Yvonne (White) Crawford of Nacogdoches passed away January 16, 2024, in Nacogdoches at the age of 89. She was born March 16, 1934, in Shelby County, Texas to parents Cooper White and Annie Bertha (Madden) White.

Mrs. Crawford graduated from Fellowship School in Joaquin, Texas with a high school diploma. She spent her life caring for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, bowling, and tole painting. She also liked to play 42 and spent time doing crossword puzzles.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Cooper and Annie Bertha (Madden) White; husband, F. Max Crawford; son, John Russell Crawford; and brothers, Alfred White and Carroll White.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Walker; daughter-in-law, Marsha Crawford; granddaughters, Crystal Furniss, Caron Stark, Holly Creel, and Katie Elmore; grandson, Tom Crawford; great-grandsons, Will Furniss, Owen Furniss, and Cole Stark; great-granddaughters, Ella Furniss, Catherine Stark, and Nevaeh Creel; sister, Viola McCoy; and brother, Wesley White.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home officiated by Dennis White. Yvonne will be laid to rest at Alazan Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Crawford, Jesse Creel, Eddy Furniss, Owen Furniss, Will Furniss, and Cole Stark.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of East Texas.
