Woman facing felonies in altercation

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas – An Alto woman was arrested Sunday on two felony charges following an altercation in Nacogdoches County. Rayla Eleigha Upshaw, 22, was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and abandoning/endangering a child, a state-jail felony. Deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of FM 1638 around 1240 Sunday after receiving reports of the altercation. During the investigation, Upshaw was accused of crashing the rear-end of her vehicle into the front-end of the victim’s vehicle. Deputies were informed that there was a one year-old child in the vehicle at the time. Upshaw’s bonds were set at $50,000 for the second-degree felony and $10,000 for the first-degree felony.
