A memorial service is pending for William James Wilton Jr., 81, of Alto. Mr. Wilton passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at his home near Alto. He was born November 2, 1944 in Campell’s Creek, West Virginia to William James Wilton Sr. and Mamie Henderson Wilton. Mr. Wilton had lived in Alto for 13 years and was Baptist. He had retired from Lockheed-Martin after working there for many years as a supervisor. Mr. Wilton loved playing tennis and riding his four-wheeler. He was preceded in death by son James Randolph “Randy” Wilton and a sister Martha. He is survived by wife Kathy Coppenger-Wilton of Alto, sons James Russell “Rusty” Wilton of Alto and Dean Crosby II and wife Isabella of Ferris, Texas, daughter Jennifer Compton Cabello and husband Jerry of Alto, sister Mary Chappell of South Carolina and 2 other siblings, grandchildren Brittany Duncanson and husband Jon, Westen Cabello and Mia Crosby as well as 9 great grandchildren.
