Obituary
Victor Clovis Bane of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on February 2, 2023 at the age of 82. He died peacefully with his loving wife by his side.
A Nacogdoches native, Victor was born November 16, 1940. In high school, he kept a busy schedule: he played basketball for NHS, sang as part of a group on two radio stations every Sunday morning, worked as a bellhop at the new Fredonia Hotel, helped his father with farm work, and enjoyed driving his first convertible. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1963, moved to Houston to begin his career at Price Waterhouse, and attained his CPA designation about a year later. Victor eventually went into banking, rising to the position of bank president at several banks. Later, while living in New Orleans, Victor made a career pivot and combined his love of automobiles and charismatic personality in the sale of high-end vehicles. He eventually moved back to his hometown of Nacogdoches, where he finished his career with Rex Perry Autoplex.
Not content to retire quietly to his woodworking projects or work in the yard, Victor spent several post-retirement years delivering vehicles between auto dealerships across the southern United States. To him, these were adventures, and he regaled those around him with tales of highways traveled, miles covered, and notable lunch stops.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents Cleaburn C. Bane and Maudie E. Bane. He is survived by his wife Patsy (Patty) Bane; children Sandy Bane, Mark (Autumn) Bane, and Carrie (Bill) Boudreaux; sister Betty Anthony; nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
A celebration of life is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home, 2116 South Street, Nacogdoches, Texas. All are invited to attend.
