Another painting by Nacogdoches High School’s Toni Saucedo is headed back to Austin for a second straight year.
Toni, a junior at NHS, titled her work, “To Underestimate a Shoe.” It depicts a youngster strapping on new hightops before stepping onto an outdoor basketball court.
The painting will be displayed in the Capitol rotunda as part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month exhibit.
Last year, Toni’s painting of a baseball player was also displayed in Austin.
The exhibit in Austin showcases works by students ranging from Pre-K through 12th-grade. After being displayed in the State Capitol, the painting will be shown in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum for the remainder of March.
