Travis Dean Spencer passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Travis was born on May 9, 1970, to James Weldon Spencer and Mary Joyce King Spencer in Linden, Texas. Travis was a lifelong resident of Cushing where he was known as the “Stud of Cushing.” He never met a stranger and he knew everyone. Travis had a lively personality and was very outgoing. Travis was known as a scrapper. Everyone would save up their metal scraps, cars, appliances, and all things metal just for him. “Big Daddy Trav”, as he was also known, was the literal life-of-the-party. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting him, you would forever cherish those memories. Travis had health issues since he was 11 years old; he was a fighter who never complained. He was able to handle anything that came his way, with the the Lord’s strength. Travis shared his love of Jesus Christ by instilling it into his children. He was a family man and cherished time with his loved ones.  The family would like to thank the staff at Stallings Court Nursing and Rehabilitation of Nacogdoches, where he was a favorite among the staff. Travis will be remembered by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved “Sweet Pea” Nikki Edison of Cushing, son Travis James “TJ” Spencer of Big Springs, daughters Jana Spencer and husband Johnathan Hodges of Cushing, Gypsy Hudson and husband Damon of Tyler, Isabella Joyce Spencer of Cushing, stepchildren Hayden Bailey and Mason “Poopee”, brothers James Spencer of Cushing, Mark Spencer and wife Rhonda of Cushing, and sister Brenda “Dotta” Wilburn of Cushing. Travis is also survived by his grandchildren James Dean Hodges and Lanilee Byrd; also, nephews Brad Black, Nick Spencer, Derek Spencer, and Colby Spencer and many others.
