On Friday, May 30, 2025 Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office stopped a local wrecker on Loop 224 near university drive for a traffic violation. The wrecker was hauling a vehicle, which was a 2021 BMW. Deputies conducting the stop observed a passenger inside the wrecker, who was the owner of the BMW that was being towed.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit has been conducting ongoing narcotics investigations for the distribution of cocaine and Marijuna in Nacogodches County. During the course of these investigations and conducting several search warrants, information had been obtained that a local wrecker company was towing a vehicle belonging to Corey Roberts from the Houston area to Nacogodches County. Corey Roberts was the target of an ongoing criminal investigation by NCSO.Through this investigation, investigators had learned that the wrecker company had transported vehicles belonging to Robertson numerous times over the course of the last two years. NCSO investigators believe a minimum of 15 trips have been made during this time, but there could be more.
Deputies identified the passenger in the vehicle as Corey Roberts. The driver of the wrecker was also identified as Jereome Brown. Both subjects are from Nacogodches. Both subjects gave conflicting information deputies suspect criminal activity. A K-9 with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office was used to conduct a free air search around both vehicles.The dog gave a positive alert to both vehicles. The BMW was unloaded from the wrecker and a search was conducted.
Deputies discovered 48 packages wrapped in clear plastic that contained High grade marijuana believed to be Hydropaponic marijuana. The marijuana was found inside garbage bags in the trunk of the BMW. Both subjects were arrested at the scene and transported back to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators observed that the Marijuana found in the vehicle was also packaged in the same way as other marijuana that had been confiscated on previous investigations by NCSO.
Corey Roberts 39 years of age and Jerome Brown 30 years of age were both arrested at the scene and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail where they were booked on charges of Delivery of Marijuana a 1st degree felony offense. Bonds were set on the men at 100,000 dollars for each charge. Both subjects made bond on Saturday, May 31, 2025 and were released from jail pending court dates for the charges.
