Theda Ann (Longenecker) Busby passed away, July 15, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on October 1, 1943 in York, Pennsylvania to Mervin Longenecker and Frances Lehman Longenecker.

Theda graduated Straughn High School in Andalusia, Alabama class of 1961 and attended Dallas Bible College class of 1964.

She was a homemaker, church secretary at Grace Bible Church and worked at Fredonia Bank for 24 years. She loved teaching kids about the Bible, and was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher for decades. The friendships she made while teaching so many were dear to her. Theda enjoyed visiting with friends and family, hosting Sunday meals, prayer groups and Bible studies. She also loved flower gardens, plants, travel (particularly the road less traveled), singing, playing piano and accordion, and “Memaw Camp” with her granddaughters. She was a member of the Pines Garden Club and a 53-year member at Grace Bible Church. She had a quick wit, an adventurous spirit, a servant’s heart and a dedication and love for her savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She will be missed dearly.

Survivors include: husband, Ralph Busby; son, Todd Busby and wife Lori; daughter-in-law Linda Malone and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Brianna Bateman and husband Zach, Kristen Matis and husband Chris, Alyssa Busby, Caroline Busby; great-grandchild, James Bateman; siblings, Joyce Marsh and husband Gary, Richard Longenecker and wife Karen, and Ken Longenecker and wife Jan.

Theda is preceded in death by her parents; son, David Bradford Busby; siblings, Lois Cassady and her husband, Carlton.

A visitation for will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grace Bible Church, 329 Blount St. Nacogdoches, TX with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Grace Bible Church or to Love Inc.
