Press Release below with the title seen above was sent by communications@tmb.texas.gov on 9-1-2026 to NacNewsNow.com – Texas Medical Board Website: www.tmb.texas.gov

On August 20th, 2026, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical radiologic technologist certificates of Norberto M. Rodriguez, MRT of Crystal City (Lic. No. GMR02005449) and Rachel Savannah Zima, MRT of The Woodlands (Lic. No. GMR02007342) after determining their continuation in practice as medical radiologic technologists would constitute a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspensions were effective immediately.

The Board panel found that Mr. Rodriguez exhibited behavior consistent with impairment while engaged in patient care.

The Board panel found that Ms. Zima developed an incapacity as a result of drug or alcohol dependency that prevents the practice of radiologic technology with reasonable skill, competence, and safety to the public.

Temporary suspension hearings with notices will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days’ notice to Mr. Rodriguez and Ms. Zima unless the hearings are specifically waived by Mr. Rodriguez and Ms. Zima.

The temporary suspensions remain in place until the Board takes further action.
