September 20th through September 26th, 2026 is Child Passenger Safety week.
Did you know that nearly half of car seats in the country are installed incorrectly, putting children at a higher risk of injury or worse in crashes? The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) offers free car-seat safety checks and education. Parents and caregivers can contact the Lufkin District Office, or any other district office, to schedule a safety check. You can also visit LoveMyCarSeat.org to schedule an appointment.
