Obituary
Teresa Nell Ross Crume, age 71, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Teresa was born in Longview TX to Patsy and Clay Ross. She grew up in the Ryderville community outside of Carthage. She married her high school sweetheart, Greg Crume on February 25, 1972. She then graduated from Carthage High School and went to work for ArkLa Gas for several years before becoming a stay at home mom. She went back to Northwestern State University when her daughter, Courtni, was in school and received her Bachelors in Educational Studies in 1990. She taught elementary and middle school English for 27 years, retiring from Mineola ISD in 2017.
Teresa has lived with her daughter and grandchildren for the past several years in Nacogdoches. She was a member of First Christian Church and was rarely out of reach of her bible. She loved her two grandchildren more than anything, and has spent countless hours with them watching TV and teaching them about life. Her main concern was that they know the Lord.
Teresa is survived by her daughter and beloved son in law, Courtni and Travis Jackson of Nacogdoches; grandchildren Maddi and Tatum; sister, Tina Crymes of Whitehouse; nieces, Jodi (David) Bradshaw of Whitehouse and Sarah Flores of Whitehouse; nephew, Dillon Crymes of Alto and a host of other friends and family members.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Greg Crume; parents, Patsy and Clay Ross; brother-in-law, Darell Crymes.; nieces, Amanda Barfield and Pepper Lynn Green.
A visitation for Teresa will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Cason Monk-Metcalf Chapel. Interment will follow at Creagleville Cemetery in Grand Saline, Texas.
