The Stephen F. Austin women’s basketball team (14-4, 4-3 SLC) headed to the boot to matchup with the McNeese Cowgirls (7-10, 2-4 SLC).

The Ladyjacks were on fire to start the second as they went on a 10-0 run and did not allow McNeese to score points until halfway through the quarter. The McNeese three pointer was all that SFA defense would allow in the second as they finished the first half on 17-point run which included threes from Key Roseby, Moore, Traylor-Walker, and Avery VanSickle. The Ladyjacks went into the locker room with a commanding 23-point lead, 43-20.
Both teams traded baskets to begin the second half until McNeese went on a 5-0 spurt to cut the lead down to 20, 49-29. Traylor-Walker ended the five-point run with a layup before the Cowgirls started another 4-0 run that was stopped by a three from VanSickle, 54-33. With 2:47 left in the third quarter SFA went on an 8-0 run that was capped off by a layup from Hope LeMelle and sent SFA to the fourth quarter with a 62-35 lead.
