Softball vs. Sam Houston State University 5 p.m. April 7
SFA Softball Field SFA’s softball team will compete against Sam Houston State University. 
‘The Hammond Research Station: The Past, Present and Future’ 7 p.m. April 9
Brundrett Conservation Education Building Join SFA Gardens for the Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series featuring Dr. Christine Coker, Louisiana’s state vegetable specialist, extension agent in general horticulture for Southeast Louisiana, and research coordinator at the Hammond Research Station. The research station was founded in 1922 to support strawberry and vegetable farming. Today, it focuses on landscape horticulture, with scientists testing over 500 ornamental plants each year. 
‘Hedda Gabler’ 7:30 p.m. April 9 and 10; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. April 11
Griffith Fine Arts Building, Black Box Theatre The Denard Haden School of Theatre and Dance will perform “Hedda Gabler” by Henrik Ibsen. The classic psychological drama is centered on Hedda, a restless and manipulative woman caught between societal expectations and her own desires, whose actions spiral toward a devastating conclusion. 
Rusche Distinguished Lecture Series Featuring Dennis Quaid and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick 7:30 p.m. April 9
Baker Pattillo Student Center, Grand Ballroom Acclaimed actor and Texas native Dennis Quaid will bring star power and business policy insight as SFA’s upcoming Nelson Rusche Distinguished Lecture Series speaker. Quaid will be interviewed by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick about his advocacy for Texas film and television industry incentives, offering firsthand insights into the intersection of entertainment and economic development. Tickets required for entry.
SFA Horticulture Program and Club Spring Plant Fair8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 
SFA Plantery, 1924 Wilson Drive behind the Agriculture Building 
The student-run sale will offer a variety of native perennials, edibles, annuals, houseplants and succulents. Pancakes will be offered for free with a donation encouraged.

2026 Spring Garden Gala Day Plant Sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 11
Pineywoods Native Plant Center SFA Gardens’ spring sale will feature an array of hard-to-find, “Texas tough” plants, including Texas natives, edibles, tropicals, perennials, shrubs and trees, with an emphasis on pollinator-friendly selections. 

Wind Ensemble Concert 7:30 April 14
Griffith Fine Arts Building, Turner Auditorium Directed by Dr. Tamey Anglley, the Wind Ensemble will perform its winter tour concert featuring SFA faculty members and students. 
Baseball vs. Nicholls State University 6 p.m. April 17-18; 1 p.m. April 19
Pilgrim’s Park SFA’s baseball team will play a three-game series against Nicholls State University. 
Sculpture in the SFA Gardens Opening Reception 2 p.m. April 18
Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden
The SFA School of Art and SFA Gardens invite you to the opening reception of a yearlong scuplture exhibit. A new group of sculptures will be on display, and the artists will be on-site to dicuss their works with the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Commercial and Contemporary Music Ensembles Concert 7:30 p.m. April 18
Griffith Fine Arts Building, Turner Auditorium SFA’s Commercial and Contemporary Music ensembles, featuring students from the Sound Recording Technology program, will produce a concert that highlights the artistry and versatility of musicians trained in both performance and production.
