NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin Women’s Soccer is set to host the Utah Tech Trailblazers in a Pink Out match Thursday evening.
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin returns home to the Chopping Block for the first time in 10 days to face off against Utah Tech. In their last game, the Lumberjacks were defeated 2-0 by the Seattle University Redhawks. In the match against the Redhawks, Jayme Bailey recorded two shots including a shot on goal, and Mariona Garcia Dalmases also recorded a shot for SFA. Lydia Sattler made her second consecutive start in net for the ‘Jacks and made eight saves. Sattler has recorded 18 saves between her last two starts in net and has made 46 total saves this season for SFA. Jayme Bailey leads the way offensively for SFA as her two goals and five points on the season are both tops for SFA. Ava Shannon leads the team in assists with two and has started every game this season for SFA. Ella Morgan and Morgan Donohue continue to be constant forces in the SFA lineup as they both average over 72 minutes of playtime for the Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks carry a 1-11-1 overall record, a 0-3-1 conference record, and a 0-6-1 home record into this tilt against the Trailblazers. The Lumberjacks will be looking to win their first conference game as well as their first home game of the season and look to avenge last year’s loss to the Trailblazers.Trailblazers at a Glance:
The Utah Tech Trailblazers just wrapped up a four-game home stint that featured three conference games. The Trailblazers tied in all three home conference games and will be hitting the road for the first time in over two weeks. In their last game against Grand Canyon University, the Trailblazers tied with the Lopes 1-1 at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George Utah. Offensively, Lacy Fox has been the leader for Utah Tech as she is tied for the team lead in points with 15 and leads the team with seven goals. Brynlee Rider has pitched in a team leading five assists as well as five goals to tie Fox for the team lead in points. In goal, Brianna Frey has started all 13 games for the Trailblazers and has recorded 53 saves on the season. Utah Tech travels to Nacogdoches with a 5-4-4 overall record, a 0-0-3 conference record, and a 2-1-1 away record.
Series: This will be the second meeting between these schools as Utah Tech has won the lone matchup between the two schools. Their first, and only, matchup was in September of 2022 when the Trailblazers defended their home turf and defeated SFA 2-0.
