Obituary
Royce Michael “Mike” Williams departed this earth in the early morning hours on April 24, 2024. Born to Royce Evan Williams and Elsie Marie Jenkins on June 28, 1947 in Nacogdoches, Tx, grew up between here and Bogalusa, LA. He moved to Houston, Tx as a teenager, where he met, courted, and married Sharon Bedelia Kennedy on August 1, 1970 and had a son and daughter. He spent over 20 years working in parts department for Chrysler corporation throughout the state of Texas. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife, his Friday evening dinner with his elementary school classmates but he found his greatest joy in the last 20+ years as he and his wife fostered medically fragile children and adopted 4 of those children. He could always be counted on for a smile, a story of growing up in Nacogdoches, riding bikes down Mims Avenue and eating M&M’s at the downtown movie theater.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Royce Evon Williams, Mother, Elsie Marie Ruppert, Sister, Diane McCann and adoptive daughter Adara. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sharon, son Robert “Bobby” Williams and wife, Tammy of Pearland; daughter, Dora Dykes and husband, Bobby of Nacogdoches, grandsons, Justin Williams of Nacogdoches, Shelby and Cody Williams of LaPorte, and granddaughter, Kyrstin Dykes of Nacogdoches; great granddaughter Audrey and adoptive sons, Kyle, Cason, and Carson.
