Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Bob, as he was known, peacefully passed away Oct. 7, 2025 surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with dementia. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Sue Meyers; three children, sons, Rob and wife Eileen, Ronnie and wife Christina, and daughter, Susan, all of Nacogdoches. He is survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Vera Tibaldo, of McKinney, TX and Dorothy Johnson, of Galveston, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elizabeth Meyers, sisters Nina Howe, Miggie Smith, Diane Meyers and Cathy Meyers, a brother Jimmy Meyers and a half-brother, E.C. Meyers.

Born Sept. 16, 1940, in Houston to Edward Jacob and Elizabeth Svoboda Meyers, he grew up in Hitchcock, TX where he graduated high school and eventually met the love of his life, Linda Sue Hamilton of Texas City, Texas.  They were married Feb. 12, 1960, and began a family while starting a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone that spanned more than 30 years.  Bob and Sue moved all over southeast Texas, living in Texas City, Bay City, Houston, Alvin, Nacogdoches and Beaumont – some places more than once – before retiring in December, 1991.

Upon retirement Bob and Sue enjoyed traveling the country from coast to coast in their motorhome with friends while living for several years on the golf course in Wildwood, TX. While not enjoying time on the course during this period, their focus was a growing number of grandchildren – Jacob Meyers, Matthew Meyers, Christopher Meyers, Rebecca (Meyers) Martinez and Timothy Meyers.

Bob took great pride in the accomplishments of all his children but was especially proud of watching the grandchildren grow into the successful young adults they have become.

In 2008, they moved back to the Nacogdoches area to be closer to family. During this time, he devoted himself to refining his woodworking skills, crafting handmade furniture—especially Adirondack chairs—that became cherished Christmas gifts.

After settling back in Nacogdoches, Bob and Sue joined the Fairview United Methodist Church community, which brought them both great joy.
