Obituary
Robert “Bob” Wayne Acklin, age 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Bob was born in Graham, Missouri to parents Irvin Acklin and Edna Grace (Summers) Acklin.
Bob graduated from High School and married Joan Acklin. He had 65 years of marriage to his best friend before her passing earlier this year. Bob was a cattle farmer and father of three children. In his spare time he enjoyed backcountry riding, trying out new restaurants, and buying rose bushes with his wife.
Bob was a hardworking, generous and ornery person who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it. He was also a coin collector, raised cattle, and loved working on projects around his home.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Sylvia Joan (Rasco) Acklin, parents; and brothers, Eugene Acklin and Jerry Acklin.
Survivors include: children, Cheryl Stanco, Mark Acklin, and Kelly Verney; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Robert will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, Texas.
