Obituary

Robert James Williams, age 70, of Nacogdoches passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, in Lufkin. He was born on May 11, 1952 in Poughkeepsie, New York to parents Charles T. Williams, Jr. and Virginia (Woodrow) Williams.

Bob attended and graduated from Webutuck Central School in 1970. He received his Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminal Justice and Data Processing from Duchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran, where he earned a Military Service Award. He later worked as a police officer for the Poughkeepsie Police Department and in the IT Department with Stephen F. Austin State University. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing slots, watching Nascar, and any activities involving his granddaughters.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jan Anderson; and brother, Tom Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Williams of Nacogdoches; sisters, Patricia Olsen and husband Bob of Crossville, Tennessee, Sandi Billingsley and husband Stewart Luke of Fort Davis, Texas, Sharon Williams of Folsom, California, and Wendi Williams of New Hope, Minnesota; brother-in-law, David Anderson of McGregor, Texas; sister-in-law, Pam Williams of Coventry, Connecticut; son, Robert Williams, Jr.; stepdaughters, Tamela Brumley and husband Donnie of Kingwood, Texas and Kimberly Lambert and husband Daryl of Nacogdoches, Texas; granddaughters, Sydnee Brumley, Daphne Brumley, Savanah Lambert, and Kyndall Lambert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daryl Lambert, Donnie Brumley, and Cory Clark.
