RAGUET CHOIR MAKES ITS ANNUAL VISIT TO ROTARY CLUB

Raguet Elementary’s choir visit to Rotary Club of Nacogdoches on Wednesday marked the 68th year the school’s students performed for the service club at Christmas. The tradition of an NISD choir visiting Rotary goes back even further, 78 years to 1944.

The only interruption in personal appearances, as far as anyone can recall, was in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Raguet choir director Angelica O’Pry led the students in some Christmas classics as well as a few new holiday songs. Jay Teamer provided accompaniment on piano for the choir.

On Wednesday, the students made a day of it, making an appearance at a Nacogdoches assisted living center before Rotary and visiting NISD’s administration building afterwards.
