Nacogdoches Police Respond to 52 Calls Between Jan. 26โ€“27

The Nacogdoches Police Department handled a steady stream of calls between the morning of Jan. 26 and the early hours of Jan. 27, according to a daily incident summary released Tuesday. Officers responded to 52 incidents ranging from minor crashes and stalled vehicles to burglary investigations, alarms, and suspicious activity.

๐Ÿšจ Property Crimes

Two major property-related offenses were reported:

  • Burglary of a Building & Unlawful Use of a Vehicle
    1:06 p.m., 6818 North St. (Cason Monk)
    Officers found that items were taken from a building without consent, and a vehicle was also stolen from the parking lot. No suspects have been identified.
  • Burglary of a Motor Vehicle & Debit Card Abuse
    5:20 p.m., 212 N. Sanders St.
    A victim reported their vehicle had been entered and property stolen. Two known suspects were later found to have used the victimโ€™s debit card. Warrants have been requested.

Two shoplifting calls were logged:

  • Brookshire Brothers, 1216 South St.
    8:51 a.m. โ€” Officers responded to a shoplifting complaint.
  • Walmart, 4810 North St.
    2:57 p.m. โ€” A suspect allegedly tampered with evidence, resisted a search, and committed theft. Charges include tampering with evidence (F3), resisting arrest (M/A), and theft (M/B). The individual was transported to NLEC.

Traffic stops and roadway issues made up a large portion of the dayโ€™s activity:

  • Officers handled several stalled vehicles, including calls at Austin @ Loop and South St.
  • More than a dozen traffic stops occurred throughout the afternoon and night.
