NACOGDOCHES,TX (March 14, 2023): The Nacogdoches Police Department is currently on the scene of a fatal auto pedestrian accident in the 5000 block of South St. At around 11:30 p.m. on March 13, 2023 officers responded to a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle and was laying in the roadway. Officers arrived to the scene finding a male victim that appeared to have been fatally struck by a vehicle. At this time the vehicle that struck the victim has not been located. The Justice of the Peace was called to the scene. The NPD traffic division is conducting an accident reconstruction and collecting evidence. All south bound traffic in the 5000 block of South St. is being rerouted. Txdot is on scene to assist. Please avoid the area. As further information becomes available it will be released.
