NACOGDOCHES, TX (July 22, 2026) — The Nacogdoches Police Department will host its Teen Academy on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The academy is designed to provide young people with an educational and engaging opportunity to learn more about law enforcement and public safety.
The academy will be limited to 25 students. Topics covered will include law enforcement hiring practices, impaired driving, distracted driving, vaping awareness, firearm safety, cell phone and social media safety, and S.W.A.T. operations.
The Nacogdoches Police Department Teen Academy is intended to give students a firsthand look at various aspects of law enforcement while providing insight into the responsibilities, challenges, and career opportunities within the profession.
Students interested in participating in the Teen Academy may request an application by contacting Sergeant Brett Ayres at ayresb@nactx.us. Applications may also be picked up at the Nacogdoches Police Department, located at 312 W. Main Street. Completed applications may be submitted by email to Sergeant Ayres or returned to the Nacogdoches Police Department. Applications will be accepted until all 25 spaces have been filled.
