Chamber luncheon to highlight TxDOT bicycle plan, seeking community input.
NACOGDOCHES, TX — The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce will host a Candidate Forum during its Fourth Friday Luncheon on Friday, August 28th, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Fredonia Hotel and Convention Center.
The forum will provide voters with an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking election in local and state races ahead of the November 3rd, 2026 General Election.
Participating candidates include:
Texas Senate, District 3
- Trent Ashby
- Bobby Tillman
Texas House of Representatives, District 11
- Roxanne Lathan
- Joanne Shofner
Nacogdoches County Commissioner, Precinct 2
- Sandy McCorvey
- Gary Woods
The forum will be moderated by Dr. John Hendricks, who will guide the discussion and facilitate questions throughout the event.
“The Chamber is committed to providing opportunities for voters to become informed about the candidates and issues that will shape our community and state,” said Tyrone Curl, Vice Chair of Public Policy, Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage community members to attend, hear from each candidate and participate in the voting process.”
The Candidate Forum is part of the Chamber’s monthly Fourth Friday Luncheon series and is open to Chamber members and the public. Registration is requested and available online or by email or calling 936-560-5533. A lunch buffet will be available for $30/Chamber members and $35/non members. Seating will be offered at no charge for attendees not having a meal.

- First day of early voting by personal appearance: Monday, Oct. 19, 2026
- Last day of early voting by personal appearance: Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
- Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026
