NAC kicked off the season by hosting the Winter Workshop & Vendor fair downtown on the square December 2 prior to the lighted Christmas parade. There were kids holiday crafts led by teachers Jenny Alvarez and Vicki Lunell, chalk art for all, over 40 vendors plus entertainment by the Rhythm Rocker Cloggers, Heart of the Pines Chorus and Cindy Grayson.
Our own Arrie Tucker, yoga therapist, has been hosting donation based sessions Fridays in December from 5:30-6:30 at our new 411 Hospital Street location. Stay tuned for a full slate of artistic classes coming in 2024.
Michelle Filer’s fun “Nacogdoches Carnival Oddities” painting show is on view most Saturdays 11-4 through February 3 (except January 6) or by appointment. This series of paintings is the inspiration for our upcoming fundraiser “Amethyst Ball: UNDER THE BIG TOP!” scheduled for Saturday, February 10 at Mast Hall. Expect a circus atmosphere including dance performances, carnival food & games and an artsy silent auction. Costumes are encouraged! Tickets are now on sale on our website www.nacartscollab.com, $40/pp or $75/pair. Not in your budget? Sign up to be a volunteer for the event!
Meredith Janning is the winner of the ArtWalk game, visiting every stop on the map. She wins two tickets to the Amethyst Ball as well as an arty bag of goodies.
