Press Release below provided by Nacogdoches County Emergency Management Coordinator Tara Triana
NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX – The Nacogdoches County Commissioners Court has issued a burn ban effective October 27, 2026, for the unincorporated areas of Nacogdoches County. The order will remain in effect for 90 days, through January 25, 2027, unless rescinded earlier.
Continued dry conditions, low humidity, and dry vegetation have increased wildfire risk throughout the county. Local volunteer fire departments have experienced increased call volumes, responding to numerous grass, brush, and wildland fires in addition to their regular emergency calls.
We appreciate the continued dedication and hard work of our volunteer fire departments and the firefighters responding to these incidents.
A copy of the signed burn ban order is attached for your reference, including the applicable restrictions and exceptions.
