Surrounded by a large, strong and loving family, Mildred grew up in San Augustine where she was a member of McRae Presbyterian Church and graduated from San Augustine Highschool in 1951. She served as a bookkeeper for Kimbell Grocery Company after graduation, up until she married Cecil “C.W.” Tannery of San Augustine, TX in 1956.
