Meth, Cocaine Tossed During Pursuit: Two Arrested in Nacogdoches

On 08/29/2025, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department and TX DPS Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a Hyundai passenger vehicle in the 5000 block of US Hwy 59 S in Nacogdoches County. The vehicle was occupied by Shydaja Williams 26 y/o of Nacogdoches and Roy Casey Jr. 30 y/o of Nacogdoches. Shydaja failed to stop in a timely manner and a pursuit ensued. During the vehicle pursuit Casey began disposing of what was believed to be numerous ounces of powder-cocaine and multiple pounds of methamphetamine onto the roadway. Shydaja eventually brought the vehicle to a stop and both subjects were taken into custody. The Nacogdoches Police Department assisted with the apprehension of the subjects.

During a search of the vehicle and scene numerous items of narcotics and a firearm were located. The firearm was located in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, leaving it easily accessible to Casey who is a convicted felon.

Casey held active warrants through the Nacogdoches Police Department at the time. The warrants stemmed from a previous traffic stop where Casey fled from officers. Casey was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Felony-1 (methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (prescription medication) Misdemeanor-A, Tampering/Fabricate Physical Evidence Felony-3, Felon in Possession of a Firearm Felony-3, Possession of marijuana State jail felony (warrant) and Evading Arrest w/ Motor Vehicle Felony-3 (warrant).

Williams was charged with, Tampering/Fabricate Physical Evidence Felony-3 and Evading Arrest w/ Motor Vehicle Felony-3.

The incident came as a result of an investigation into felony warrants for the arrest of Roy Casey Jr. issued by the Nacogdoches Police Department and the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department and Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office spent several hours collecting evidence from the roadway.
