Mary Jordan Obituary
Graveside service for Mary Virginia Miley Jordan, 91, of Nacogdoches will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Bethel Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Wilson officiating.
Mrs. Jordan passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 in Nacogdoches. She was born on October 19, 1934, the daughter of John Miley and Martha Elizabeth Morton.
Mary was born and raised in Nacogdoches County alongside her siblings. She was raised to know the value of a good friend, family and honest days work. She met and married her husband, George Paul Jordan in 1961 and together, they built a life they loved. She was a woman of true dedication, always putting her family first and loving those around her. She made sure everyone’s birthdays were special and spent surrounded by love as she would organize a meal out with the family. Her work ethic was phenomenal. She began working at Mize Factory at a young age, then on to Moore Business Forms, where she retired from. However, she was not one to be idle. She started a second career at Walmart and eventually, after working in several departments, made her way to the bakery where she again retired. Mawmaw, as she was lovingly called, made many memories alongside “Pawpaw” with the grandchildren. And if you asked, they would likely tell you that she knew more about sports than they did! Later in life, she and George began attending Bethel Baptist Church and was honored to call the many members there, their friends. Mary grew to love the time spent with the ladies at the church and gathered with them until her health no longer allowed it.
Mary is survived by her son, Mark Jordan and wife Alyssa and her Grandchildren, Josh, Jason, Justin, Sandy, Cody, Brad, Jennifer and Jody as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Paul Jordan; daughters, Billie Tillis and Becky Gray and her 3 sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Jordan, Josh Jordan, Jason Jordan, Justin Jordan, Austin Cruz and Cord Cruz.
