Mary Elise Moore Adams passed away peacefully in Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital on December 9, 2022. She was born in Garrison, Texas on February 28, 1948 to Bennie Jaunice Moore and Melvin Angus Moore Sr.
In 1956, Mary’s family moved to Rockport where she graduated from Aransas County High School. After graduation, she moved to Nacogdoches, Texas to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and become a Home Economics teacher. In 1967, she married the love of her life, Glenn “Bozy” Adams.
Throughout her teaching career, Mary taught Home Economics, Art, Reading, Math, and 6th grade in Garrison, Timpson, and Carlisle. She loved teaching Home Economics where she helped develop young girls into sophisticated young ladies. Mary had a gift of being creative and artistic and could paint or sew anything. When Bozy and Mary built their dream home in 1977, she designed it.
Mary was a devoted mother to daughter, Amy. For many years she took her to Nacogdoches to piano or dance lessons and could be found sewing a dress for any occasion way into the night. Throughout her life, she was Amy’s biggest cheerleader.
One of Mary’s greatest gifts was that she knew how to be a great friend. She had a way of showing up at the right time with whatever was needed. She was generous and loving and had many girlfriends that remained lifelong friends.
