A graveside service for Mark Steven Whitehead, 71, of Nacogdoches will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Little’s Chapel Cemetery. Mark passed away on February 21, 2025, at his home in Chireno. He was born on October 10, 1953, in Pasadena to the late Bill and Rayma Whitehead.
Mark was born and raised in Pasadena. He attended Sam Rayburn High School and graduated in 1972. Shortly after that, he married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Jennings. Mark and Theresa were married on November 4, 1972. Together they built a life and family together. They had 52 wonderful years together. Mark had a love of the outdoors where he spent most of his time fishing and hunting. When he wasn’t outside, he enjoyed the small pleasures in life like watching the weather channel or a few episodes of Gunsmoke or MASH. Mark loved his family, one of his greatest joys was hearing all those grandchildren calling him “Grandpa or Paw Paw.” Although he was known to be grumpy most of the time, his family adored him, and he will be greatly missed.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Whitehead; children, Tawnya Whitehead, Penny Clark and husband, Dennis, Cassie Whitehead, Shelly Sistos and husband, John, and Joseph Whitehead and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Ashlie Pair and husband, Colton, Katelynn Sistos, Mikel Griffin, Hailey Sistos, Conner Whitehead, Jackson Crowe, Paisley Whitehead, and Logan Whitehead; one great-grandchild on the way; and sister, Jennie Lott and husband, Mike.
