Marilyn Juanita Mize Obituary – Provided by Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home – Updated

DECEMBER 1, 1928 – AUGUST 5, 2026

In the Care of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors

Marilyn passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026.

Galatians 2:20 speaks of a life lived through faith in Christ, and Marilyn’s life was a beautiful reflection of that faith. She believed deeply in the power of God’s unconditional love, and she shared that same agape love freely with those around her.

Marilyn was loved by all whose lives she touched. She gave kindness, compassion, love, and acceptance to everyone who had the good fortune to know her. In today’s world, it is rare to find a woman whose values, character, and integrity provide such a beautiful standard by which to live.

Marilyn Mize our mother, grandmother, and Mema was such a woman. Her family will deeply miss her presence, her love, and the special way she made each person feel cared for and accepted. Although we will miss Mema beyond measure, the love she gave us and the lessons she taught us will remain forever in our hearts and minds.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Trudy Roach and her husband, Don; Mitchel Mize and his wife, Gayle; and Nita Dickerson.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Stewart and her husband, Steve; Christy Thielmier and her husband, John; and Gabriel Mize and his wife, Jeannie; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Cole Delay, Parker Delay, Luke Thielmier, Abigayle Mize, Lance Thielmier, Miles Mize and Sloane Thielmier.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Mize, and her son-in-law, Reagan Dickerson.

A graveside service honoring Marilyn’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17th, 2026, at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.

We will miss Mema beyond measure, but the love she gave us, the example she set, and the values she instilled will remain forever in our hearts and minds.

Born. Lived. Born Again. Living Forevermore with Christ.
